PawTection is an organic, vegan, all-natural blend of carefully selected waxes and oils. PawTection is specially formulated to create a nourishing barrier to protect sensitive paw pads against the elements.
PawTection helps protect paws against damage from the following:
- HOT surfaces such as: pavement, sidewalks, gravel, rocks, sand, stone, concrete, decks, etc

Dogs are born with incredibly smooth and sensitive paw pads meant for walking through nature, not concrete sidewalks. Contact with harsh surfaces creates a lot of wear and tear, making them rough and scratchy. These harsh surfaces can be very drying, causing paws to crack and peel – which is very painful for pets. PawTection creates a protective barrier while also locking in moisture and helping prevent drying and damage.
Great for using before outdoor activities like hikes, walks, the beach, going outside in hot or cold weather, after fresh snow or salt. We get to wear shoes, but dogs have absolutely no protection when walking on things like hot pavement – until now. DIRECTIONS | For our tin container, use two fingers to scoop a small amount and rub into paw pads. Or, for no mess application, use a small beauty pad or low-absorbent cloth. Paws will be slick directly after application so it is advised to allow time for it to dry. Apply anytime before heading outdoors!
DISTRACTION | Distractions are key! Using treats (peanut butter works great!), applying right before mealtime, or following with a belly rub are great distractions to allow time for the product to settle into the paws!

WHAT IF MY DOG LICKS IT OFF?
Natural Dog Company products are 100% natural, safe and edible. Our products will still work even if most of it is licked off. Though, for best results, we advise using distractions. Give your dog a raw bone to chew on, a yummy treat, dinner, or play with them for a few minutes until the carrier oils have had a chance to work it’s magic. We hear peanut butter works great!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PAW SOOTHER AND PAWTECTION?
PawTection is used to prevent damage, while Paw Soother is used to heal existing damage. PawTection is a natural wax blend, so it provides a nourishing barrier between the paw and harsh surfaces and conditions such as hot pavement, sand, salt, ice, and snow. Paw Soother is a butter blend meant to smooth, soften, moisturize and heal dry, damaged, peeling, and cracked paw pads. Think: PawTection before going outside, Paw Soother before bed. Both have amazing collaborating qualities – making them the pawfect team!
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I APPLY PAWTECTION?
For best results, use PawTection before going outside. Reapply periodically when exposed to harsh conditions such as ice and snow and especially really hot pavement. Dogs feel pain on their paws!
